Announcements for the Week of September 27, 2026

  1. We are sending three teams on the mission field this fall. In October, we’re deploying two teams.  One group will travel to Kenya as we host WOW International!  And, another group will head to Miami, Florida as to encourage a partner in ministry, Pastor Frank Rodriguez and his congregation.  Then, in November, we’re sending a   team to Brazil as we continue to support partner churches in Säo Paulo.

  2. We’re not only making a global impact around the world, we’re making a local impact in our community too. Last month Operation Thunder hit the streets across central Virginia providing 550 meals and more than 150 care packages to those in need.  We prayed with more than 100 people and led five of them to Jesus Christ! Our next outreach is planned for Saturday, October 10th.  Please sign up online to volunteer.

  3. Our grief support ministry invites you to a virtual encounter on Monday, October 5th at 6:30PM. This Oil of Joy Encounter will focus on maternal grief as we hear from guest speaker, Aniya Ryan.  She has a powerful testimony about how God blessed her and her husband with two children after the loss of their firstborn.  Send an email to OilOfJoy@MtGileadFGIM.net to receive the Zoom link.

  4. Parents, if you have a little one, save the date for our GenSalve Parent/Toddler Event on Sunday, October 11th. Join us at Romp n Roll from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Get active with your toddler and enjoy pizza and dessert.  This is open to kids ages 3 years and younger.

  5. Also happening in October, we’re participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Our cancer support ministry, Just Support Extended, has a team.  If you’d like to walk on Saturday Oct. 17th or donate to the cause, head to our Online Registration page for details.

  6. Ladies, don’t miss our next WOW Encounter with Co-Pastor Elena Robertson and our Women’s Ministry. It’s happening Friday, October 23rd at 7PM.  Then, make plans to stick around for the WOW After Party.  Registration is free, so head to our church website to sign up! 

  7. Our ministry restaurant, The Gourmet Grille has you covered on service days with delicious meals available for purchase. Stop by our Express Meals table in the Grand Concourse before you head home.

  8. Our leadership tier meetings continue this week. Overseers will meet with Helps Ministry Cluster 2 on Tuesday, September 29th from 6:15pm to 8:00pm.  Please visit our Ministry Calendar for room assignments.

  9. Do you love serving others and enjoy creating memorable event experiences? If so, the Event Support Ministry may be the perfect place for you!  No experience is required to join—just a heart to serve and a passion for creating exceptional experiences. If you’re interested, please register to attend the upcoming interest meeting and fine dining training on October 1st.
